1.7.0 - October 27, 2026​

RepoPrompt v1.7.0 (build 40) adds Agent workflow capabilities and improves reliability across sessions and workspaces.

Highlights

  • Provider environment filtering: Opt in to withholding named ambient variables from new provider processes, with per-provider exceptions. See Providers & Models.
  • Strict MCP connection approval: Require external-client admission for the current app run instead of relying on built-in or saved client names. See Connection Management.
  • Overseer coordination: Session organization and nested delegation scopes, worktree operations for linked agents, and quieter routine check-ins.
  • Re-prompting: Revise drafts before submission, review clarification questions, and configure the rewriting model and guidance. See Re-Prompter.
  • Model decisions: Additional services for Model Router and Auto Effort in Agent Decisions, revised new-task defaults, improved usage balancing, updated model choices, and bundled Codex 0.164.0.
  • Attachments and Oracle: Broader file-attachment support, images in oracle_send, and clearer grouped Oracle responses and guidance.
  • Keyboard controls: Remap keyboard shortcuts, stop runs, focus the composer, reopen stashed sessions, and find sessions awaiting attention.
  • Recovery and performance: Improved restoration of sessions, worktrees, and windows; less repetitive MCP approval; and fixes for interrupted processes, Git reads, diff context, and background indexing.

Computer Use: In the official build, this feature needs an OpenAI-signed Codex executable. Choose a compatible local executable in Settings → Codex CLI → Advanced, then restart the app. Ordinary Codex conversations continue to use the included runtime.

RepoPrompt CE is a native macOS app for orchestrating coding agents with a focus on context engineering.

It builds an agent harness around an MCP server, giving you a shared place to prepare repository context, connect compatible CLI agents, run focused tasks, and inspect the work they produce. The goal is simple: make it easier to give agents the right context and keep multi-step engineering work understandable.
