What Happened to the Paid Version of RepoPrompt?

RepoPrompt moved from the paid Classic product to a free, open-source Community Edition. The founder's transition announcement states that Classic's licensing restrictions were removed in the 2.1.32 update and that all then-current subscriptions were cancelled.

Community Edition itself does not require an old Classic license or a new RepoPrompt subscription.

What should I install now?

For the current community application, follow Installation. The Community Edition launch announcement links the active RepoPrompt CE repository and the archived Classic source and download.

If you already use Classic, follow How Do I Safely Migrate from Classic to RepoPrompt CE? before replacing your setup.

Classic remains an archived product, not the current RepoPrompt CE interface. The documentation label Classic 2.1.0 identifies the archive; it is not a claim that Classic stopped at that application version. Use the documentation appropriate to the app you installed.

Does RepoPrompt include every feature from the paid app?

Do not assume feature-for-feature equivalence. RepoPrompt CE concentrates on context engineering and coding-agent workflows; the launch announcement describes the removal of legacy features. Consult current guides for a specific workflow rather than treating an old purchase, screenshot, or tutorial as a current feature list.

Why might I still pay for AI usage?

Removing RepoPrompt's application subscription did not make external services free. Coding-runtime plans, API usage, and other services have their own terms and billing. See Do I Need to Pay for AI Services? and the provider directory for those account boundaries.
