Claude Code CLI

Claude Code CLI runs coding sessions through the installed claude executable. The app may label this provider Claude Code. Its integration supports agent conversations, tool activity, context compaction, and RepoPrompt MCP tools.

Connect and authenticate

Install and authenticate Claude Code using its supported login flow. When login is needed, run claude login in your terminal, then open Claude Code CLI settings and choose Connect. Test Connection rechecks the integration.

RepoPrompt's Sign Out clears its recorded Claude connection state. Manage the standalone CLI's authentication separately when you need to change that login. This integration is distinct from the Anthropic API key configured for direct model requests.

Models and capabilities

The connected runtime supplies model and effort choices. See Models for selection concepts; a label in a captured screenshot is not a permanent default.

Claude's permission mode, Bash access, strict MCP scope, and lazy tool loading are configured in its settings. Advanced prompt packaging controls how RepoPrompt delivers Agent Mode instructions. Refer to the settings controls for their exact effects and when changes apply.

Compatible backends and accounts

CC Zai, CC Moonshot, and CC Custom reuse the Claude executable with different endpoints and credentials. They are separate routes from the standard Anthropic-backed login. Switching between those routes starts a fresh provider context so the endpoint and authentication are applied cleanly.

The authentication route determines account usage and billing. A Claude subscription does not automatically cover direct Anthropic API requests or requests billed by a compatible backend operator.
