Groq

Groq is a direct API provider configured with its own credential. Groq and Grok (xAI) are different services and settings entries; credentials and model selections do not transfer between them.

Connect and select a model

Use API Providers → Groq, validate the key, and inspect the discovered models. The Groq model catalog describes the hosted models, while deprecation notices identify retirement changes.

Actual availability depends on the connected account and integration. Use the current returned identifier instead of assuming a model hosted by another service has the same ID or capabilities here. Models explains that distinction and the separate roles of context limits, effort, and output controls.

Account and billing

Requests use the Groq account associated with the saved credential. The provider controls its usage terms, quotas, rate limits, and charges. RepoPrompt cannot guarantee that a particular account or hosted model has free allowance.

The settings reference describes credential and discovered-model controls. If the list changes after a refresh, check both connection access and the provider's lifecycle notices before reusing an older saved ID.
